In this piece I am attempting an uncertain painting. One where I am trying to have absolutely no subject of any kind. It's the first time I’ve attempted this and it’s harder than you think.
There’s are two rules. The first one is good design and the second is not to become bored.
Where do I start? I put colour down in washes. Experimenting is part of the process that keeps me motivated...no room for boredom. Paint flowing, music on. I feel the painting talking to me.
Next some big brushes, fingers color blocking, more acrylic washes and overdrawing in oil sticks as I work very quickly, which I always do. No room for judgement now.
Finally knowing when to stop. The hardest part. I think I’m there.
Or maybe not....Can"t think of any more to add or take away.
